2. Research status of hub motor technology
The many advantages of wheel hub motors applied to electric vehicles are highly favored by researchers at home and abroad, and many manufacturers have achieved good results in the development of wheel hub motors. In foreign countries, the research windlass on the reduction drive wheel hub motor is in-depth is Japan. The ECO independently developed by Keio University, the Colt KAZ independently developed by Keio University, the UOT March II independently developed by the University of Tokyo, and the Colt EV independently developed by Mitsubishi Corporation are all planetary gear type gearboxes for a series of electric vehicles [2]. At present, although domestic automobile manufacturers, universities and research institutes have achieved some breakthrough results, the practical application of the relevant technology is not mature enough. Therefore, it is of great significance to conduct continuous and in-depth research on the application of electric vehicle hub motor technology and to improve the production and mass production capacity of each core component of hub type electric vehicles in China, so as to ensure the sustainable and healthy development of electric vehicle industry in China.
