GR.B is one of the commonly used grades specified in API 5L. It has a minimum yield strength of 35,000 psi (240 MPa) and a minimum tensile strength of 60,000 psi (415 MPa). Grade B pipes are suitable for applications where the focus is primarily on mechanical properties and general-purpose fluid transportation.

API 5L GR.B seamless steel pipe undergo stringent quality control measures during manufacturing to ensure compliance with the specified API 5L requirements. This includes testing for dimensions, mechanical properties, chemical composition, non-destructive testing, and visual inspection.

API 5L Grade B seamless carbon steel pipe is a common grade pipe for oil and gas pipeline transmissions. It also called L245 Pipe refer ISO 3183, named by minimum yield strength 245 Mpa (355,000 Psi). Equivalent material ASTM A106 B or ASTM A53 B, which have similar value on chemical composition, mechanical properties, and applications.
