Solubility in the following solvents at room temperature: 25% methanol, 25%-26% ethanol, 30% isopropanol, 30% mineral oil, 40% acetone, 50% petroleum ether, 40% benzene, 40%-50% lard (40-50°C), 40%-50% corn oil and soybean oil. Insoluble in water, 10% sodium hydroxide solution, glycerin, propylene glycol. 3. It is quite stable to heat and has the sublimation characteristic of monophenolic type. The principle of BHT's antioxidant effect is the same as that of BHA. Generally, it is used together with BHA, and citric acid or other organic acids are used as synergists. 4. It exists in flue-cured tobacco leaves, Burley tobacco leaves, oriental tobacco leaves and smoke. |
