Bhut Jolokia Dried chilli peppers are usually small and medium-sized 5-10cm short strips, flat overall, slightly pointed underneath, wrinkled and uneven. The pepper handle is slightly smaller than the Babysbreath chili, with thin skin and more seeds. As it matures, it varies in color from green to orange or red, and has a distinctive elongated shape, pepper-shaped tip.
Bhut Jolokia held the Guinness World Record for the hottest chilli in the world for some time. The Scoville Heat Units (SHU) in Bhut Jolokia range from 800,000 to over 1,000,000, making it very spicy.
