What is Erythritol ?

Erythritol is a kind of newly developed sweetener 4 carbon sugar alcohol as food additives, can be made by the fermentation of glucose, white crystalline powder, with a sweet and refreshing, not easy to moisture absorption, high temperature stability, stable in a wide PH range, dissolve in the mouth with a mild cool feeling, suitable for a variety of food. Erythritol is produced industrially beginning with enzymatic hydrolysis of the starch from corn to generate glucose.Glucose is then fermented with yeast or another fungus to produce erythritol.

Erythritol is tooth-friendly; it cannot be metabolized by oral bacteria, so it does not contribute to tooth decay. In addition, erythritol, similarly to xylitol, has antibacterial effects against streptococci bacteria, reduces dental plaque, and may be protective against tooth decay.
