This Pie pan watch dial was very hot in 60-70s last century. the symbol watch is Omega Pie pan constellation series, then RLX has their series too..almost all these brands have pie pan dial due to its shape, it is a pie pan upturned as a watch dial. why had this design at beginning, now it is hard to say. one theory said, made the dial in this shape would make the watch look thinner. i don't agree it. as it didn't change the thickness, but design like that the depth and character is more outstanding to a watch, no more flat as other dials. now we have to say this design in vintage design in Mechanical Automatic watch or retro watch often. come back to Retro. esp the fume design, middle is in light color, then gradiantly change to dark color to the edge. this enhances the retro design. anyway this was a old design in 60s and 70s, it is not common nowadays. only some brands did it for anniversary and came back to old themes.
Below hour markers are in aesthetic arabic numerals for prominent design. some would be in bent applied index too. it depends on what design you made. we can do both.
just one more point, if the diameter is 30mm, when cut this dial diameter in brass, it should be bigger 30.5-30.8mm, as we calculate the dial diameter after bent.
