Tungsten iron belongs to the ferroalloy series (tungsten content: 70%-80%), which is an alloy composed of tungsten and iron, used as an alloy additive for steelmaking. Commonly used tungsten iron contains 70% and 80% tungsten. Tungsten iron is made by carbon reduction of wolframite in an electric furnace. It is mainly used as an alloying element additive for tungsten alloy steel (such as high-speed steel).

Tungsten iron is delivered in block or granular form.

Performance and characteristics

Tungsten iron has three varieties: W701, W702, and W65, with a tungsten content of about 65~70%. Due to its high melting point, it cannot flow out in liquid form, so it is produced by agglomeration method or iron extraction method.

Common applications of tungsten iron

Tungsten iron is often used in lathe tools, impact drill bits, glass cutter bits, and tile cutters. It is hard and not afraid of annealing, but the quality is cell. Belonging to the category of rare metals, cemented carbide has a series of excellent properties such as high hardness, wear resistance, good strength and toughness, heat resistance, and corrosion resistance.
