0.25mm 0.30mm Thick Si3N4 Silicon Nitride Ceramic Sheet

The main features of the silicon nitride sheet

1. Low coefficient of thermal expansion (2.8-3.2)×10-6/℃, high thermal conductivity up to 130 W/m.k.  thermal shock resistance, no cracking due to thermal shock from room temperature to 1000℃ 

2. Heat resistance:Si3N4 has no melting point under normal pressure, it decomposes directly at around 1870℃ and can resist to 1400℃ in oxidation atmosphere. Besides, the service temperature can reach 1200℃ in specific application (mechanical strength will decrease if it exceeds 1200℃)
3. Small coefficient of friction (0.1), self-lubricating, ( The friction coefficient of the lubricated metal surface is 0.1-0.2)
4. It has stable chemical properties and corrosion resistance. It does not react with other inorganic acids except hydrofluoric acid. It does not react with oxygen in a dry atmosphere at 800°C. When it exceeds 800°C, silicon oxide film begins to be formed on the surface. As the temperature rises The high-oxide silicon film gradually becomes stable, and can form a dense silicon oxide film with oxygen at about 1000°C, which can be maintained at 1400°C and is basically stable
5. Silicon nitride has high hardness and wear resistance. Its Mohs hardness is second only to diamond, cubic boron nitride, boron carbide, silicon carbide, and it is resistant to mechanical shock.
6. Silicon nitride is a covalent bond compound, which is difficult to compact, and sometimes requires additional additives, with a density of about 3.4 (different molding methods have different densities, and hot pressing is denser. The density of steel is about 7.85, titanium The density of the alloy is about 4.5, the unit is g/cm3)
7. High brittleness, which is a common problem of most ceramic materials, can be toughened by continuous fiber to increase its toughness.

2. The typical thickness of silicon nitride substrate covers 0.30mm, 0.5mm, 0.635mm, 1.0mm
3. The biggest diameter of round ceramic wafer can be up to 400mm in 3mm, 4mm, 5mm thick
4. The max. side-length of square and rectangular ceramic substrate can be 400mm by 500mm
5. Surface treatment: it can be one-side, or double side polished to be Ra0.6 or better

The description of the silicon nitride ceramic sheet

Silicon Nitride (Si3N4) is a widely used technical ceramic material in high temperature application, it has high strength in both room temperature and high temperature condition, the strength of silicon nitride can be kept up to 1200℃; the low coefficient of thermal expansion make it a ceramic material possessing excellent thermal shock resistance; at the same time, it also has good thermal conductivity. 
Except for the excellent properties in thermal application, silicon nitride also has good mechanical, chemical, electrical properties. It has good strength, good flexture strength and wear resistance;it is a good performance electrical insulation ceramic.

The silicon nitride application
Silicon nitride ceramics are widely used for precision shafts and axles in high wear environments,rotating bearing balls and rollers,cutting tools, engine wear parts, tappet shims,turbine blades, vanes, buckets, metal tube forming rolls and dies.
