Tungsten iron is an alloy composed of tungsten and iron, mainly used as an alloy additive for steelmaking. ‌Tungsten iron belongs to the iron alloy series, and the commonly used tungsten iron contains 70% and 80% tungsten.

The main production methods of tungsten iron include agglomeration method, iron extraction method and off-furnace method. Since tungsten iron has a high melting point and cannot flow out in liquid form, it is produced by agglomeration method or iron extraction method.

In the early days, electric arc furnaces were used for agglomeration smelting, and later three-phase electric furnaces were used, and iron extraction method was developed.
