What is Povidone?

Povidone, scientifically known as polyvinylpyrrolidone (POVIDONE), is a white to milky free-flowing powder made by the polymerization of N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone monomers. It is odorless or has a slightly characteristic odor, is non-toxic and non-irritating, has excellent hygroscopicity, and is soluble in water and a variety of organic solvents. According to the molecular weight of the polymer and the viscosity of the aqueous solution, Povidone is divided into different models, such as K29-32, K-90, K-90D, etc., each model has specific performance advantages.

Function:

1. Pharmaceutical excipients:
