Operating temperature: The allowable operating temperature of the spherical plain bearing is mainly determined by the matching materials between the bearing sliding surfaces. For example, when the sliding surface material of a lubricated spherical plain bearing is steel/steel, its allowable operating temperature depends on the allowable operating temperature of the lubricant. However, all lubricating and self-lubricating spherical bearings can be used in the temperature range of -30°C to +80°C and maintain the correct bearing capacity.

Inclination angle: The inclination angle of spherical plain bearings is much larger than that of general adjustable rolling bearings. It is very suitable for use in support parts with low concentricity requirements. The inclination angle of spherical plain bearings varies with the size, type, sealing device and support form of the bearing structure. , Generally, the inclination angle range of radial spherical plain bearings is 3°~15°, the inclination angle range of angular contact spherical plain bearings is 2°~3°, and the inclination angle range of thrust spherical plain bearings is 6°~9°.

Loading and unloading: The loading and unloading of spherical bearings should follow the following principle, that is, the force exerted by assembly and disassembly cannot be transmitted directly through the spherical sliding surface. In addition, auxiliary loading and unloading tools, such as sleeves, removers, etc., should be used to apply the loading and unloading force exerted by the outside world directly and evenly on the mating ferrules, or auxiliary methods such as heating should be used for load-free loading and unloading.

Installation: When assembling the spherical bearing series, special attention must be paid to the position of the dividing surface of the outer ring. In order to avoid the load acting directly on the split surface, the split surface needs to be maintained at right angles to the conforming direction.

Lubrication: Oil-fed spherical plain bearings can be operated without lubrication when the applied load and the speed generated by the oscillating motion are small. Nonetheless, grease must generally be replenished regularly. During initial installation and operation, it is recommended that the lubrication cycle be appropriately shortened. Oil-free spherical plain bearings can be used without lubrication. However, if lithium soap-based grease is added before operation, the service life of the spherical plain bearing will be further extended. If grease is injected into the space around the bearing, the spherical bearing will be more effective in protecting against the intrusion of dust and foreign matter.
