A537 Pressure Vessel Plate

The ASTM A537 specification covers heat-treated carbon steel plates for pressure vessels.

ASTM A537 Grade 1 plates are supplied in the normalised condition, while Grade 2 plates are quenched and tempered. ASTM A537 carbon steel plates have higher tensile and yield strengths than pressure vessel plates supplied under ASTM A516.

ASTM A537 Grade 1 carbon steel plate is designed for pressure vessel applications.

ASTM A537 Grade 2 steel is a higher yield and tensile strength material used in the manufacture of pressure vessels and steel boilers.
