The horizontal wing spiral flange end water meter, commonly known as the horizontal spiral wing water meter, is a device used to measure the total amount of water flow, particularly suitable for measuring water flow in large-diameter pipelines. Its spiral wing axis is parallel or coincides with the axis of the water flow pipeline, and the impeller usually adopts a spiral wing shape. The design of this water meter allows for high-precision flow measurement in large-diameter pipelines, suitable for water supply main pipelines in fire water system and water metering in large factories and mines. It can be connected to HDPE pipe for use.

Flow measurement principle

The horizontal spiral wing water meter adopts the flow measurement principle of brass, cast iron, and stainless steel structure based on the principle that the speed of the impeller is proportional to the water flow velocity. When the water flows through the water meter, it will impact the impeller to rotate, and the speed of the impeller is proportional to the speed of the water flow. After being driven by the reduction gear, the total flow through the water meter will be displayed on the indicator device.

Commonly used with the following types of valves:

1. Gate valves: Gate valve is one of the commonly used valves in water supply systems. It can be installed upstream and downstream of horizontal spiral wing water meters to control the opening and closing of water flow. Gate valves are suitable for cutting off water flow during maintenance and replacement of water meters.

2. Ball valves: Due to its easy operation and good sealing performance, ball valves are often used in conjunction with horizontal spiral wing water meters. Ball valve can be quickly opened and closed, making them suitable for situations that require frequent operation.
