In warehouse or logistics center, loading docks or bays are widely seen. It is a platform higher than outside ground. When lorry pull back for loading job, inside workers can directly move goods into truck containers. Overhead Sectional Doors are the mostly used doors in loading docks. It is thermal insulated to help keep temperature inside warehouse. And the Insulated Overhead Door can run in high frequency, to meet the requirement of busy loading work in the warehouse. With high strength double layer steel door panel, it also has excellent wind resistance to fit for the exterior application.

For warehouse loading docks, the lorry with container are very standard or in similar sizes in most cases. Standard containers are in three type: 20-foot container, 40-foot container and 40-foot high container. So the loading dock Overhead Sectional Doors can be designed in the same size. We suggest 2.5m wide and 3.0m high for you if you work with above standard lorry containers. Sectional door: 0.3m/s;

Traditonal roller shutter door: 0.06-0.08m/s;

So, sectional doors are four times the speed of a traditional roller shutter door. It opens and closed much faster. This bring several big benefits for warehouse with loading docks or bays:

Improve work efficiency: Workers or forklifts will no need wait long time in front of the door. The material handling speed is higher by at least 3 times than traditional roll up doors;
Keep clean and hygiene: The fast running reduces the open time to only seconds in a cycle of passing the door. Thus much less outside air and dust will enter the warehouse;
Keep temperature inside warehouse: Heat loss is reduced obviously by reducing open and closing time.

High frequency working

In many warehouses, it is quite busy for loading and unloading in 24 hours. Lorries come and leave many time is one hour. In such heavy traffic warehouse, overhead sectional doors in the loading docks can meet the requirement of high frequency opening and closing.

There is torsion spring balance system around top drive rod. After spring tightened, it can balance the weight of the door and reduce the load weight of motor. So its drive motor is always in a light-load working state. This is the reason why such overhead sectional doors can work continually in high frequency. No need worry its motor will overload and get burnt.

Max work frequency: 800 open-close cycles per day.

Thermal insulated

Door panel is Double skin sandwich structure filled with highly thermal insulating polyurethane foam material.

.Total thickness: 40mm. Two surface layer is 0.326mm galvanized steel plate. Middle is filled with high density fire

retardant polyurethane foam. Foam Density: 45kg/m3.

At the joint area, there is a special cold-bridge design, to avoid direct heat conduction through surface steel sheet.

Thermal insulation ratio: 4.5W/m. h.

For this reason, loading dock overhead sectional doors will keep cold or cool temperature inside the warehouse, to save energy cost. This is quite useful in cold room or cool room warehouses of cold chain logistics.

High air-tightness

All-around of the loading dock overhead sectional door is covered with EPDM weather seal rubber. Such rubber can resist cold and chemical. It can keep in good shape after years. This guarantee the high air-tightness of the whole door. It will prevent outside air and dust entering the room, and keep warehouse inside clean and hygiene.

Flexible design to fit all project sites

The loading bay overhead sectional door can climb up in different ways to fit specific site situation of warehouse loading dock.

Standard lift: For limited top space, the door will turn to the ceiling directly;

High lift: The door can climb up the wall for some distance and then turn to the ceiling;

Vertical lift: If the ceiling is high enough, the best way is to climb up complete to the top.

Clear Window: People can see what is happening at another side of the door through it. This can improve safety at work place.
Small Man door: Fit for big size doors with a lot workers passing. This can reduce the use of whole sectional door and improve its work life.(in most warehouse loading docks, the dock door is in small size around 2.5m*3m, there is no need small man doors for so small size doors.)
