Fluidized bed granulator is a common granulation equipment widely used in industries such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, food, health products, veterinary drugs, etc.

In the pharmaceutical industry, fluidized bed granulation machine converts loose powder into particles for the production of solid dosage forms to improve compaction and flow characteristics. The dried granules can be used for pressing tablets or filling capsules, or packaged as instant granules.

During the fluidized bed granulating process, high-pressure hot air is forced to pass through a perforated bed of wet particles. Solid matter is subjected to controlled pressure, causing the powder to act like a fluid, and then lifted and suspended in the airflow. The liquid adhesive is atomized by a spray gun and sprayed from top to bottom onto the suspended powder. More and more wet powders collide and stick together to form particles. The contact between particulate matter and hot gas generates heat transfer. The heat generated thereby dries the gas and carries away the vaporized liquid. Fluidized bed granulation can be used together with thermosensitive or non thermosensitive particles. After the drug granulation process, the dense particles are packaged into dosage forms or mixed with excipients, and then used to press tablets or used to fill capsules.
