The working principle of the four-open gravity casting machine is as follows:
Mold installation and preparation:
The four-part mold is installed on the corresponding mold frame of the four-open gravity casting machine. These molds cooperate with each other to form a complete cavity for accommodating molten metal to form castings. After the installation is completed, the mold needs to be inspected and debugged to ensure the installation accuracy and smooth opening and closing movement of the mold.
Mold closing process:
The four-part mold mechanism is driven by a drive device (usually a hydraulic system or a mechanical transmission device) to move simultaneously, so that the four parts of the mold are tightly closed to form a closed cavity. The mold closing process needs to ensure the sealing of the mold to prevent the molten metal from leaking during the pouring process.
Smelting and pouring:
In the furnace, the metal material to be cast is heated to a molten state to make it a molten metal with good fluidity. Then, the molten metal in the furnace is poured into a ladle or other pouring container.
With the help of gravity, the molten metal is slowly poured from the ladle or pouring container into the mold cavity. Because it is gravity pouring, the flow of molten metal in the cavity is relatively smooth, which is conducive to reducing the defects inside the casting.
Solidification molding:
After the molten metal fills the cavity, it gradually solidifies under the cooling effect of the mold. During the solidification process, the temperature of the molten metal gradually decreases, its fluidity gradually decreases, and finally forms a solid casting. The speed and method of solidification are affected by many factors, such as the composition of the molten metal, the pouring temperature, the material of the mold and the cooling rate.
Mold opening and part removal:
When the casting is completely solidified, the mold opening mechanism is started to open the four parts of the mold in a predetermined order and manner. The mold opening process requires careful operation to avoid damage to the casting.
The mold removal device (such as a manipulator or manual operation) is used to remove the molded casting from the mold and place it in a designated position for subsequent processing, such as cleaning, processing, inspection, etc.

Mold closing structure: The four-opening gravity casting machine has a horizontal and vertical mold closing mechanism. The horizontal mold clamping mechanism includes a horizontal push hydraulic cylinder, a horizontal positioning plate, a horizontal guide shaft and a horizontal mold frame; the vertical mold clamping mechanism includes a vertical push hydraulic cylinder, a vertical positioning plate, a vertical guide shaft, a vertical guide sleeve and a vertical mold frame.
Mold installation and mold clamping method: The molds are installed on the mold frames of the four-combination mold pushing mechanism respectively. The four-combination mold pushing mechanism can simultaneously push the mold to close the mold, which can meet the processing requirements of castings with complex surface structures. Compared with the traditional double-opening mold gravity casting machine, it has more advantages in manufacturing complex shape castings.
Lifting mechanism: It is usually equipped with a lifting mechanism to adjust the height of the mold platform to meet different casting process requirements. The lifting mechanism is generally composed of a lifting cylinder, a lifting guide column, a lifting guide sleeve and a lifting positioning plate.

1. The whole machine adopts PLC control, and the pressure, stroke, mold opening speed, rotation speed, rotation angle, etc. are all adjustable.
2. The extended guide sleeve design has high parallelism and better stability, which is more conducive to automatic operation.
3. The frequency converter is installed to accurately control the speed and stroke of the main cylinder and the rotating cylinder and reduce power consumption.
4. The shock-absorbing device minimizes the vibration generated when the cylinder rotates to the base to avoid damage to the sand core and affect the molding of the product.
