Flame retardant PP material applications
Flame retardant PP materials have good flame retardant properties, mechanical properties, thermal stability, etc., its use is very wide, the following are some of the main areas of application:
Electronic and electrical field
Shells and parts: can be used to manufacture TV sets, computers, printers and other electronic equipment shells, to prevent fire caused by electrical malfunction of the ignition source, to protect the safety of equipment and users. It can also be used to manufacture insulating sheaths for wires and cables, plugs and sockets, terminals and other parts to meet the flame retardant requirements in the process of their use.
Internal bracket and structural parts: such as microwave oven internal bracket, heater shell, induction cooker shell, motor base, etc., in order to ensure the structural strength of the product at the same time, to provide reliable flame retardant protection.
Automotive Industry
Interior parts: for automotive interior parts such as instrument panels, seats, door panels, etc., the use of flame-retardant PP materials can reduce the risk of fire and improve the overall safety of the car, and its good mechanical properties and processing performance to meet the requirements of the complex shape and appearance of the interior parts.
Engine peripheral parts: parts around the automobile engine, such as air filter housings, cooling fans, etc., need to withstand high temperatures and possible sources of ignition, and the high temperature resistance and flame retardant properties of flame-retardant PP materials enable them to work stably in these harsh environments.
Construction industry
Thermal insulation materials: specially treated flame retardant PP thermal insulation materials, with good thermal insulation and flame retardant properties, can be used for building exterior wall insulation, roof insulation, etc., which can effectively reduce energy consumption and improve the fire safety of the building.
Building components: such as flame-retardant PP made of plastic pipes, doors and windows profiles, etc., in addition to good corrosion resistance and mechanical properties, but also to meet the requirements of the building fire code, improve the overall quality and safety of the building.
Home furnishing field
Furniture and decorative materials: can be used to manufacture furniture frames, panels, etc., such as outdoor furniture, seats in public places, etc., and its UV resistance and flame retardant properties can ensure the long-term safety of furniture used outdoors or in crowded places. In addition, it can also be used to manufacture curtains, carpets and other decorative materials such as flame-retardant coatings or fibers to improve the fire performance of household goods.
Kitchen appliances: such as kettle bases, microwave turntables, oven baking trays, etc. These kitchen appliances are often exposed to high temperatures and sources of ignition during use, and flame-retardant PP materials can ensure their safety in normal use and in case of accidents.
Packaging Industry
Fire-retardant packaging materials: For some flammable or high fire-resistant items, such as electronic products, chemicals, etc., the use of fire-retardant PP materials made of packaging containers or packaging liners can provide effective fire protection during transportation and storage, reducing the degree of damage to the items caused by fire accidents.
Medical Device Field
Medical device parts: Some medical devices that need to be sterilized at high temperatures or used in specific environments, such as trays for surgical instruments, sterilization boxes, etc., can be made of flame-retardant PP materials to meet the safety and hygiene requirements of their use in medical environments.
Aerospace
Aerospace interiors and parts: In the aerospace field, the requirements for flame retardant performance, mechanical properties and light weight are very high. Flame-retardant PP materials can be used to manufacture aircraft interior panels, seats, luggage racks and other components, which can help reduce the weight of the aircraft and improve fuel efficiency while ensuring safety.
Other Fields
Toys: The use of flame-retardant PP materials in children's toys can reduce the risk of fire caused by accidental contact with an ignition source and protect the safety of children.
Sporting goods: such as handles of sports equipment, protective pads, etc., the use of flame retardant PP materials can improve the safety and durability of sporting goods.
Industrial fittings: In some industrial production processes, such as chemical and machinery manufacturing industries, flame-retardant PP materials can be used to manufacture a variety of corrosion-resistant, high-temperature resistant pipes, valves, pumps and other fittings to meet the special requirements of industrial production.
Difference between flame retardant PP sheet and ordinary PP sheet
Flame retardant PP sheet:
Flame retardant PP sheet is made by adding flame retardant masterbatch to make PP sheet to achieve the effect of fire self-extinguishing. It has high stiffness, high hardness and high strength, but the notched impact resistance is very general. Flame retardant PP sheet can withstand tensile stress and is easy to weld. It becomes brittle at low temperatures and has excellent chemical stability and electrical properties. Operating temperatures range from 0 degrees to 100 degrees. Polypropylene has good heat resistance and the product can be sterilized at temperatures higher than 100°C and does not deform at 150°C without external force.
Ordinary PP sheet:
PP sheet, also known as polypropylene sheet, is a semi-crystalline material. It is harder and has a higher melting point than PE material.PP extruded sheet is characterized by light weight, uniform thickness, smooth surface, good heat resistance, high mechanical strength, chemical stability and good electrical insulation.PP sheet is widely used in chemical containers, machinery, electronics, electrical appliances, food packaging, pharmaceuticals, decorative and water treatment fields.PP sheet can be used at temperatures of up to 100 degrees Celsius.
