A steam vortex street flowmeter, when a non streamlined column, namely a vortex generator, is vertically inserted into a steam fluid, if the Reynolds number reaches a certain value, two columns of alternating vortices will be generated downstream of the column. These vortices are arranged neatly and turn in opposite directions, forming a "vortex street". The frequency of the vortex street is directly proportional to the velocity of the steam. By measuring the frequency of the vortex and combining it with parameters such as the width of the upstream surface of the vortex generator and the diameter of the body, the average velocity and flow rate of the measured steam can be calculated.

Structural composition

Vortex generator: usually triangular or prismatic, used to perturb steam fluid and generate vortex.

Sensor probe: generally a piezoelectric or capacitive sensor, used to detect vortex frequency.

Flow measurement pipeline: It is a channel through which steam flows, and the vortex generator and probe are installed inside.

Signal processing unit: responsible for converting the signals collected by the probe into flow velocity or flow data.

Easy to operate: The electromechanical integration design eliminates the need for manual supervision for daily measurement and calibration operations. Measurement technical parameters such as flow rate, working pressure, and temperature can be intuitively read from the meter head without conversion.
